February15: extended FY 2019-20 ITR reporting deadline for taxpayers whose accounts are to be audited.

February 15: deadline for submission of the quarterly TDS certificate about income tax deductions other than wages for the quarter ended 31 December 2020.

March 2021
March 31 is also the deadline to complete your tax-saving exercise for FY 2020-21, in addition to the deadlines specified by the tax department.

March 15: Is the last deposit date of the fourth advance tax payment (if applicable) for FY 2020-21. It is also the due date for those persons who are covered under the presumptive taxation scheme under sections 44AD and 44ADA to pay advance tax.

March 31: For FY 2019-20, the last filing date is a late or amended return. Note, if this deadline is missed, you will not be able to file the FY2019-20 ITR, nor will you be able to file the FY 2019-20 updated ITR.You are responsible for paying a late filing fee of Rs 10,000 for sending late ITRs.

March 31: This is the last date PAN and Aadhaar have been connected. PAN's non-linkage to Aadhaar would lead to PAN being inoperable.

March 31: Is the extended last filing date of the deposited TDS/TCS quarterly statement for Q1 and Q2 for FY 2020-21.

March 31: Is the last payment date, without any additional levy, under the Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme.

April 2021
April: is the beginning of the new financial year, i.e. the 2021-22 FY. While there are no tax-related deadlines this month, to prevent TDS, do not forget to apply Form 15G/Form 15H, as applicable.

May 2021
May 15: Is the last filing date of the TCS quarterly document lodged for the quarter ended March 31, 2020.

May 31: Is the last date on which the TDS quarterly document was filed for the quarter ended March 31, 2020. It is also the due date for submission by financial institutions of the financial transaction statement referred to in section 285BA for FY 2020-21.

June 2021
Wage earners and other taxpayers will start receiving TDS certificates from June 15, i.e. Form 16, Form 16A etc. Form 16 includes information of the total tax withheld for FY 2020-21 by your employer, total wage revenue, allowances etc. paid to you by your employer.

Similarly, if your bank has deducted tax on your interest income, then Form 16A for FY 2020-21 must be released.

June 15: The due date of the first payment of the FY 2021-22 advance tax.

July 2021
15 July: is the last date on which the TCS quarterly statement deposited for the quarter ending 30 June 2021 is filed.

30 July: the last date on which the TCS certificate is given for the quarter ending 30 June 2021.

July 31: This is the last date for taxpayers whose accounts are not expected to be audited, usually salaried taxpayers, senior citizens, etc., to file income tax returns for FY 2020-21. If the ITR is filed after this date, a penalty of up to Rs 10,000 will have to be paid by a person. Please remember that there is a time limit for filing the overdue ITR even with the penalty.
This is also the time limit for the filing of the TDS quarterly statement filed for the quarter ending 30 June 2021.

August 2021
15 August: the last date for the issuance of the TDS quarterly tax exclusion certificate for expenses other than wages (such as interest income, etc.) for the quarter ended 30 June 2021.

September 2021
15 September: Is the last deposit date for the second installment of the FY 2021-22 advance tax.

30 September: is the last date for the submission of the FY 2020-21 audit report for those taxpayers who have not carried out foreign or relevant domestic transactions.

October 2021
15 October: Is the last date deposited for the quarter ended 30 September 2021 for the submission of the TCS quarterly statement.

30 October: the last date on which the quarterly TCS certificate is given for the quarter ended 30 September 2021.

31 October: Is the last filing date of the TDS quarterly statement deposited for the quarter ended 30 September 2021.

31 October: is the last filing date for the FY 2020-21 ITR for assessments (not having a foreign or domestic transaction specified) whose accounts are to be audited.

October 31: Is the last date for the submission of the FY 2020-21 audit report for international or defined domestic transaction evaluations.

November 2021
15 November: Is the deadline for the submission of the TDS quarterly tax exclusion certificate for expenses other than wages for the quarter ending 30 September 2021.

30 November: Is the deadline for those taxpayers whose accounts are audited and have foreign or defined domestic transactions to file ITRs for FY 2020-21.

December 2021
15 December: is the last date on which the third installment of your advance tax (if applicable) for FY 2021-22 will be deposited
